Have past experiences been holding you back from the life you’re hoping to build for yourself? Does it feel like you’re living in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze? Are you navigating a life transition and unsure of what things could look like in the future? Together we can reprocess what’s happened in the past and increase capacity to take in the full breadth of emotions and experiences in the present, while envisioning and moving toward a fuller life where you can truly thrive!
I strive to create a therapeutic environment that feels grounded and collaborative, with the capacity to shift with your pace and how you are showing up. I adapt to your communication style and can use a humorous or more calming approach, depending on what fits best. I believe that the work we do here is serious, but we can create an authentic space which allows for however that shows up, even if it’s messy or sometimes even fun. My goal is for you to feel like you’re in the driver’s seat of your own healing; my role is to help you uncover that path.
Some of my areas of emphasis are working with individuals who are going through transitions, exploring their identity, people experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression, those with sexual health and relationship concerns, and those who hope to move beyond their past trauma. I welcome folks in all queer spaces, those in non-monogamous relationship structures, and members of the kink community. Through my training in social work, I view therapy through a social justice lens and acknowledge that much of what we do can be inherently political.
The modalities that I draw from are tailored to your individual needs. I am certified in Post-Traumatic Growth Somatic Therapy, which helps connect to experiences and emotions in the body in order to regulate nervous system activation and move through distressing past experiences. I often use somatic work alongside talk therapy approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and skills from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I am trained in EMDR, which can help uncover and reprocess old messaging and experiences that are impacting present feelings and behaviors.
My goal is to create a warm environment where you can show up as your real self, that allows you to realize and move toward a greater sense of openness, connection with self & others, and autonomy.
